SBS 2008 Remote Web Workplace – Connect to Computer missing

We have recently come across a number of customers with SBS 2008 that are unable to connect to their computer through the Remote Web Workplace. Simply put the shortcut is missing once you login.

Turns out the issue is related to Internet Explorer 11 and compatibility with this page.

The fix is to add the site under Compatibility View Settings.

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Go to your Remote Web Workplace login as usual.

3. Login

4. Click the Tools icon in the top right hand corner of Internet Explorer.

5. Click Compatibility View Settings.

6. Click Add

7. Click Close

8. Close Internet Explorer.

9. Re-open Internet Explorer and attempt to log back in to your Remote Web Workplace.

You should now have your Computer listed as before.
