Ben Dampney
IT Consultant

Ben is an IT consultant with 20 years’ experience in information technology. He established Digit IT in 2007 with a clear goal – to help Toowoomba businesses get the most out of their technology.

His expertise includes, IT networks, project management, technical problem solving, client relations, and level 1, 2, and 3 support, across a variety of operating systems.

Prior to establishing Digit IT, Ben worked in various IT Engineer roles for companies including IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Compaq.

Ben is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (Office 365, Server 2008), a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (Small Business Server 2011, Small Business Server 2008, Server 2008) and a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (Windows Server 2003).

Dedicated to staying abreast with the latest technologies, Ben is also a Avaya Certified Associate, a TIA Convergence Technology Professional and has CompTIA Server + qualifications.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys renovating, Crossfit and mountain biking.

Matthew Smith
Computer Technician

Matthew joined Digit IT as a Computer Technician in 2014 and is responsible for looking after multiple small to medium IT networks.

Matthew’s day involves a mix of onsite and remote work, ranging from troubleshooting clients’ day-to-day issues and regular maintenance to assisting on migrations and project rollouts.

Prior to joining Digit IT, Matthew gained a wealth of experience as the IT Systems Administrator for Nolan’s Interstate Transport.
He’s also worked as an IT Helpdesk Support Officer for Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC).

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife Kristy and 2 children Lilly and Jacob. Matthew also enjoys playing Tenpin Bowling on a weekly basis, and on the weekends enjoys playing the electric guitar and drums.

Craig Berry

Computer Technician

Craig commenced work in the IT industry about two decades ago and accumulated a wealth of experience in various government roles in Canberra. Specifically, Craig has worked for the Department of Defence, Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Immigration in various roles.

Craig’s previous IT support experience has been focused in enterprise networks and infrastructure which was primarily based around the Microsoft and Cisco technology stacks.

Most recently, Craig successfully completed his PRINCE2 Practitioner certification and this complemented his previous training in ITILv3, which leads into Craig’s career goal of becoming an IT Service Manager.

Craig said one of the highlights of his career was completing system re-builds for the Federal Government in overseas locations including Port Moresby, Port Villa and South Korea.
